
Professor Mihaela Malița has taught computer science courses both in Romania and the United States. Between 1992 and 2000, she held academic positions at the University of Bucharest and the University of Transylvania in Brașov. Since 2000, she has continued her teaching career in the U.S., with appointments at Rivier University (her current institution), Smith College, Amherst College, and Saint Anselm College, where she was honored with the title of Professor Emerita.
She was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Southern California, conducting research in the Department of International Relations under the mentorship of Professor Hayward Alker. Her project focused on “Mathematical Models for Conflict Analysis.”
Her current research interests include: accelerators for AI computation,data visualization techniques, big data analysis.
Professor Malița is the author or co-author of over 60 academic papers and four books. She also served as editor of the volume Cold War Diplomacy: A Romanian Diplomat’s Memoirs by Mircea Malița (2014).
