Correspondent Member of the Romanian Academy Gheorghe Stefan

Gheorghe M. Stefan, born on 23 April 1948, vice-president, member of the board, since the BSUF’s founding. Engineer, Professor for the Polytechnics University of Bucharest, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology. Correspondent member of the Romanian Academy.

Gheroghe M. Stefan teaches digital design in the Polytechnics of Bucharest. Its scientific interests are focused on digital circuits, computer architecture and parallel computation. In the 1980s, he led a team which designed and implemented the Lisp machine DIALISP. In 2003-2009 he worked as Chief Scientist and co-founder in Brightscale, a Silicon Valley start-up which developed the BA1024, a many-core based chip for the HDTV market.
